Twenty five years ago, with consumer focus shifting towards aspects such as animal welfare, product traceability, quality and nutrition, LAMEX set up a technical function having identified that technical assurance would become increasingly important to our customers.

Today, technical staff represent 15% of our global workforce with a presence on the ground in all key markets and in the factories of our suppliers. These staff oversee our technical assurance and NPD functions. As well as working to bespoke customer and industry standards, LAMEX UK/Ireland and Thailand and LAMEX Agrifoods Malvern are approved by the British Retail Consortium (BRC), LAMEX Holland is IFS audited and approved and LAMEX USA (Minnesota and Miami) are both C-TPAT accredited.

Some years ago Lamex took the bold step of investing in technical personnel, rather than sales people. We believed our blue chip customers were looking for an extra dimension to assist their buying, that global procurement would increase and become increasingly more important. We were right.
